Egyptian low-cost airline Air Cairo plans to begin flying to Damascus from Cairo and Hurghada in mid-November, Syria TV reported on Friday, citing an airline official’s comments to Asharq Bloomberg.

The proposed schedule includes seven weekly flights from Cairo and three from Hurghada, the Red Sea resort city. The official said the airline would use Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with 180 passenger seats.

Syria TV said the report did not clarify the arrangements for return services from Damascus.

Air Cairo is the low-cost arm of EgyptAir. The proposed routes would add an Egyptian-operated connection to the Syrian capital as airlines announce further services to Syrian airports. The report did not give an exact date for the first flight or details of ticket prices.
