Syrian Air will begin regular direct flights between Aleppo and Moscow on Nov. 18, Syria’s civil aviation authority announced on Thursday.

The authority said the service would expand the destinations available from Aleppo International Airport and provide additional travel options between Syria and Russia, according to Syria TV. The announcement did not specify how frequently the route would operate.

The planned launch follows the resumption of Syrian Air’s direct Damascus-Moscow service in August. Syria TV reported that the first passenger flight on that restored route arrived in Moscow on Aug. 16.

Direct passenger services between the two capitals had stopped in December 2024 after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government. Syrian Air subsequently reopened ticket sales through its website and mobile application when the Damascus service resumed.
