Syrian Post has dispatched its first international parcels in more than a decade, sending shipments to five countries as it restores outbound services, Syria TV reported on Thursday, October 15, citing the state news agency SANA.

The parcels were sent to the United States, the Netherlands, Sweden, Algeria and Qatar. The dispatch follows an announcement earlier this month that international parcel services would resume through the Universal Postal Union network.

The restart builds on the restoration of incoming international parcels through the postal exchange office at Damascus International Airport. That service resumed on July 1, 2026, as the first stage of the institution’s recovery plan.

Syrian Post director-general Imad al-Din Hamad previously said provincial branches and the airport’s international exchange centre were ready to handle outgoing and incoming shipments.

Hamad said the service would support individuals and businesses seeking international delivery, describing its prices as competitive. The report did not provide a tariff or delivery timetable.
