A group of 372 displaced families left Hasakah on Wednesday to return to Ras al-Ain and its surrounding countryside, Deputy Governor Ahmed al-Hilali told SANA.

They are part of a seventh return convoy covering 847 families. Another 475 families, mostly living in displacement camps, are scheduled to travel Thursday, he said.

Most of Wednesday’s departing families had been staying in collective shelters in Hasakah city, according to the report.

Al-Hilali said authorities were coordinating transport and arrivals and working with international and relief organizations to address returning families’ needs.

The program began in August and aims to facilitate the return of about 12,500 families, SANA reported.
