An agreement sets out the integration of Rojava and Kobani universities into the structures of al-Furat and Aleppo universities, Syrian lawmaker Ahmad Murad said on Thursday, October 29, according to Syria TV.
Murad said Rojava University would become the Qamishli Colleges Cluster under al-Furat University, pending the establishment of a Hasakah university. Creating that university still requires political and parliamentary approval.
Kobani University would become the Kobani Colleges Cluster within Aleppo University. Each cluster would retain a council and a head serving as a university vice president.
Students in their second, third and fourth years would continue under their previous study systems. Academic and administrative staff would be integrated under Higher Education Ministry standards, Murad said.
