Deir Ezzor’s passenger transport directorate has suspended all nighttime trips to other Syrian provinces because flooding damaged roads and left travel unsafe, state news agency SANA reported on Sunday.
The directorate said the suspension would remain until the hazards had cleared and journeys could resume safely. It urged passengers to follow official announcements for timetable updates.
The governorate’s emergency response committee separately warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong downdrafts from Sunday evening into Monday morning, with the worst conditions expected around midnight.
The decision concerns nighttime passenger services from Deir Ezzor. The report did not announce a nationwide travel ban or a date for restoring those services.
