Health and social affairs officials in Hama have concluded an October breast cancer awareness campaign that included seminars, community activities and home visits, SANA reported Friday.
The initiative encouraged women to seek medical examinations and raised awareness of early detection. Its closing event included accounts from survivors about diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
Qaddour al-Bazo, coordinator of the Hama Health Directorate's Community Health Promotion Program, said volunteers visited women at home to explain available examinations and encourage screening.
The campaign also included an awareness march in Salamiyah on October 11 and educational activities elsewhere in the province. It was held under the slogan “Earlier Screening, Greater Hope.”
