Two metal and wood plants operated by the Syrian Construction and Building Corporation in Latakia have resumed production following machinery repairs, SANA reported Wednesday.

The corporation’s industrial division said the metal plant has a contract to manufacture 1,000 tons of electricity towers for medium- and low-voltage networks. It is also producing about 206 tons of structures for rehabilitation work in fire-affected areas, including al-Basit.

The metal plant employs around 45 workers, while the wood facility employs 15. The latter has resumed work on doors, window frames, furniture and other fittings for public construction projects.

Officials said both plants are available for public- and private-sector orders.
