A state-run paint plant in Latakia has resumed production after its equipment was repaired and moved to a new site, with capacity of up to 4.5 metric tons a day, officials told SANA on Monday.
The plant belongs to the Latakia branch of the Syrian Construction and Building Establishment. Industrial division head Fater Ahmad said local technicians dismantled, repaired and reinstalled its equipment, and operations restarted about a month ago.
Output is currently being used for the branch's public-sector construction projects, while management is considering an order from Latakia's drinking-water authority and plans to sell products locally.
Plant manager Rani Ghara said production includes acrylic paint, water-based sealer and other coating products, with capacity ranging from four to 4.5 tons daily.
A new detergent production line is still being tested before entering service, a workshop official said.
