Officials in Quneitra announced Monday that a plan to activate industrial and craft zones had entered its implementation phase, with investors beginning infrastructure work, SANA reported.
Mohammad Sharaf, director of industrial and craft zones at the Local Administration and Environment Ministry, said the work followed assessments of the province's needs and the setting of priorities.
He spoke after meeting Quneitra Governor Ghassan al-Sayyed Ahmad.
Hussein al-Nader, who heads the local investment authority branch and the province's chamber of industry and commerce, said more than 63 investors were preparing to start projects in areas including food production, agriculture, mining and manufacturing. Some factories had already built infrastructure, he said.
Officials said the province would facilitate investment from inside and outside Quneitra.
