Syria’s Sports and Youth Ministry says it has completed contracting procedures for workers covered by decisions to return them to their jobs after dismissals linked to their positions during the Syrian revolution, Syria TV reported Wednesday.
The ministry said the procedures covered workers whose records had been verified and whose names were on lists approved by the Administrative Development Ministry.
The group includes former permanent employees and those who had worked under annual contracts, according to the statement.
The ministry said the step was intended to settle their employment and administrative status and support regular operations at sports and youth directorates. The announcement did not give the number of workers covered.
