Syria's Higher Education Ministry is aiming to announce general university admission results early next week, Minister Marwan al-Halabi said Monday, as students await placements for the 2026-27 academic year.

Results allocating preparatory-year students are expected this week, he said in a Facebook statement reported by SANA.

Al-Halabi said a faculty recruitment competition was due to be announced within a week. Master's and doctoral admission processes are expected around the end of this year and the beginning of next year.

A further admissions round to fill vacant places will follow the general results. Open-learning admissions will be announced after that process is completed, he said.

The minister urged students to obtain dates and information from official ministry and university channels.

The ministry opened the current academic year's university admissions process on Sept. 30 using a unified electronic system, SANA said.
