Syrian and Dutch officials discussed changes to humanitarian funding arrangements during talks in Damascus on Thursday, October 29, SANA reported.
Qutaiba Kadish, director of international cooperation at Syria's Foreign Ministry, met Dutch Chargé d'Affaires Alexander Geerts to review bilateral relations and assistance mechanisms.
SANA said the Netherlands had allocated €100 million in humanitarian support for 2026, to be delivered through UN agencies and international nongovernmental organizations.
The report said the talks focused on adapting funding mechanisms to Syria’s changed political circumstances. It did not specify a disbursement schedule or say that the humanitarian allocation would be transferred directly to the Syrian government.
