Syria and Saudi Arabia discussed a draft memorandum on industrial cooperation in Damascus on Tuesday, including plans to develop industrial cities and zones, SANA reported.

Industry, Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Minister Basel Abdul Aziz Abdul Hannan met Saudi Ambassador Ghazi bin Rafea al-Anazi at the ministry.

The proposed agreement would cover production efficiency, product quality and exchanges of expertise in industrial financing and project support, according to the Syrian ministry.

The memorandum remains a proposal. The report did not announce its signing, a financing amount or a timetable for projects.
