Syrian Endowments Minister Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri met Saudi Ambassador Ghazi bin Rafea al-Anazi to review preparations for the 2027 Hajj season, SANA reported Tuesday.
The ministry said the talks focused on facilitating arrangements for Syrian pilgrims during the 1448 AH pilgrimage season.
SANA said 71,257 people had applied for the season, with a lottery held in Deir Ezzor on Sept. 26. Syria’s quota is 22,500 pilgrims, with an additional 525 covered by a presidential grant and 175 by a grant from Qatar’s emir.
The report did not announce a new application window, prices or travel dates.
