Syrian Social Affairs and Labor Minister Hind Kabawat discussed early recovery and social protection with Britain's acting special representative to Syria, Barrie Peach, and his delegation, her ministry said Saturday.
The talks focused on moving from emergency humanitarian assistance toward sustainable development and strengthening direct support for national institutions, SANA reported, citing the ministry.
The two sides also discussed a unified national social registry, sustainable funding for cash-transfer programs and support for social cohesion initiatives. No new funding amount or agreement was announced.
The ministry launched its Cash+ program with UNICEF in August to link assistance for vulnerable families with essential services and develop a national cash-transfer system.
