Syria's Planning and Statistics Commission and UNIDO discussed industrial surveys, policy development and stronger statistical systems during talks in Damascus, SANA reported Thursday.
Commission head Anas Salim met Kamel El-Abasiri, director of the UN agency's Regional Office for Arab States, according to a commission statement.
Salim called for reliable industrial data to inform investment and recovery decisions. El-Abasiri outlined proposed updates to the jointly developed Industrial Recovery Program for 2026–2030.
The discussions also covered possible technical assistance and training for Syrian institutions. The report did not announce a new financing package or final adoption of the proposed updates.
