Syria's finance minister and a World Food Programme delegation discussed attracting funding for food security and agricultural development programs, the Finance Ministry said Friday.
The talks in Damascus brought together Minister Mohammed Yisr Barnieh and a delegation led by WFP Assistant Executive Director Matthew Hollingworth, according to state news agency SANA.
WFP outlined progress on a country strategic plan covering the next four years, which it is preparing with several Syrian ministries.
The discussions focused on financing the plan and aligning it with government programs aimed at improving livelihoods. The report did not announce a funding amount or a new financial commitment.
