Syria will extend the working day at administrative public bodies to 4 p.m. from Dec. 1, under a decision issued Monday by the General Secretariat of the Presidency.

The new schedule runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., replacing the current 3 p.m. finish, Syria TV reported. State news agency SANA identified the measure as Decision No. 1616.

Public entities of an economic nature and bodies whose work requires continuous operations will organize their hours and shifts under their own regulations, according to the decision.

The order cancels conflicting provisions and is to be circulated to the authorities responsible for implementing it.
