A Syrian Agriculture Ministry delegation joined regional talks at Cairo Water Week on Sunday on agricultural water use and climate resilience, state news agency SANA reported.
The meeting reviewed implementation of the 2025 Cairo Declaration and discussed non-conventional water resources and voluntary guidelines for allocating water to agriculture, the ministry said.
Ministry official Mohammad Seilin highlighted remote sensing and geographic information systems as tools to improve agricultural data and prepare for extreme weather.
Delegates recommended studying the creation of a regional Arab fund to support agriculture, water and resilience projects. The report did not announce that a fund had been established or financing approved.
