The Central Bank of Syria reopened its Banking Training and Qualification Center on Sunday after a two-year suspension, state news agency SANA reported on Monday.

The bank said planned training covers risk management, banking supervision, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing measures, cybersecurity and financial technology.

It intends to develop partnerships with international training institutions and bring in Syrian and overseas trainers.

The reopening builds on a September cooperation agreement with Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and German development bank KfW. Under that arrangement, KfW-funded training and technical support are planned over three years for central bank staff and other banking-sector personnel, SANA said.
