Syrian Health Minister Musab al-Ali called for expanded cooperation with Türkiye in medical training, research and innovation during a health congress in Istanbul on Friday, SANA reported.

Addressing the 12th Turkish Medical Congress, al-Ali said rebuilding Syria's health sector required investment in medical workers as well as institutions and technology.

He identified stronger primary healthcare, professional expertise, better health information systems, prevention and early detection as ministry priorities.

Al-Ali said medical advances, including artificial intelligence, should improve access to care and reduce health inequalities. He also urged international cooperation and exchanges of expertise to prepare for cross-border health challenges.

The congress runs from October 29 to 31 and is organized by Türkiye's Health Ministry and the Health Institutes of Türkiye.
