An exhibition of recycled crafts and traditional products has opened in Tartous's Old City, offering local artisans a place to sell their work while promoting waste reduction, SANA reported Friday.

Organized by the city's Environment Directorate and council, the event opened Thursday and runs through November 2. Displays include household items made from reused materials, handmade goods and traditional foods.

Environment director Mohammad Saleh said the initiative combines public awareness with support for small producers. It accompanies tree-planting activities on Arwad Island and in local parks.

Craftswoman Mayada Deeb told SANA that exhibitions help artisans without permanent shops reach buyers and exchange ideas.
