Telecommunications services have returned to Deir Ezzor after repairs to a main fiber-optic cable damaged during flooding, Syrian Telecom's local branch said Friday.
Branch director Anas al-Yassin told state news agency SANA that crews had repaired the cable at Mansoura in Raqqa countryside, on the Aleppo–Raqqa–Deir Ezzor route.
Maintenance was still underway on another cable near Haribsha, on the Homs–Deir Ezzor route, to restore normal service conditions, he said.
Floods on Thursday damaged the telecommunications network and put major cables connecting Deir Ezzor with Homs and Aleppo out of service.
