A Lebanese government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri is expected to visit Damascus early next week for talks on issues between the two countries, Syria TV reported Friday.
The broadcaster's Beirut correspondent said four Lebanese ministers would accompany Mitri. The agenda is expected to include border matters, the return of Syrian refugees and Syrian detainees in Lebanese prisons.
Syria TV previously cited a Lebanese diplomatic source as saying the delegation would include the ministers of interior, education, labor and social affairs. Bilateral meetings with Syrian counterparts were expected to precede a broader session.
The reported visit could prepare the way for a later trip by Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. No precise date for either visit was given in the report.
