Syria’s Education Ministry said it has completed a national framework to guide the development of new school curricula, according to a statement reported by SANA on Wednesday.
The framework emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, digital skills and creativity. The ministry said implementation would proceed gradually under approved procedures, without giving a detailed timetable.
Responding to claims circulating online, it said changes already made since December 2024 were limited to an amendment issued in January 2025, focused on removing symbols and ideological material associated with the former government.
The ministry said the wider curriculum plan is intended to represent Syria’s social and cultural diversity and promote citizenship and respect for others.
