Syria and Saudi Arabia discussed cooperation on disaster response, recovery projects and mine clearance during talks in Damascus on Monday, state news agency SANA reported.

Emergency and Disaster Management Minister Raed al-Saleh met Saudi Ambassador Ghazi al-Anzi to review disaster-risk management, training and exchanges of expertise.

Al-Saleh said on X that the discussions also covered his ministry's efforts to support recovery, rehabilitate infrastructure and remove rubble under its Syria Without Camps initiative.

He stressed the importance of expanding cooperation on mine clearance to protect civilians and help restore life in affected areas.

The report did not announce a funding commitment or a signed agreement.
