Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani attended the opening of the Manama Dialogue in Bahrain on Friday, state news agency SANA reported.
The Foreign Ministry said he would be a main speaker at a session on the foundations of regional security.
The 22nd edition of the conference, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. SANA said delegations from more than 50 countries were taking part.
The gathering brings together ministers, senior military officials and representatives of international organizations to discuss regional challenges and global security.
